The app

Your files

Intact CSV Editor reads, edits, queries and exports your files on your Mac. Their contents are never sent to us or to anyone else. Backups kept before a save, and the journal of unsaved edits, are stored in the app's folder in your Library, on your Mac.

What the app sends, and when

• A usage count. Once at launch and once a day while it runs, the app tells our platform that it ran: a random number made for this purpose only, the app's version and build, the macOS version, the region your Mac is set to and its first language. It never includes your account, your files or anything in them; the platform does not keep your network address. The number stays the same for as long as the app's settings do, and is not the one the licence uses, so the counts cannot be linked to an account. They are kept for a little over a year. Turn it off in Settings ▸ Info and nothing is sent.
• The trial and the licence. A trial belongs to a Mac, so the app sends a number that stands for this Mac when it asks for its trial or licence: the Mac's own hardware identifier, scrambled by a one-way hash before it leaves, which says nothing about the Mac beyond being it. It is kept in your Keychain. If you sign in, the licence is linked to your account.
• Things you ask for. Opening a file from a link fetches that address. Checking for updates asks this website for the current version — off until you switch it on. Ask a Web Service About Each Row sends the values you choose, one request per row, to the address you write; it is the one command that sends your data anywhere, and it shows the exact first request and the host before anything is sent. Searching the web or a map for a selected value opens your browser or Maps with it, and a mail draft to the selected addresses opens in your mail program, unsent.
• How it introduces itself. Every request the app makes names the app, its version and the macOS version — nothing about your Mac, you or your files.

Your contacts

Open My Contacts reads your address book into a table, on your Mac, when you choose it — and only after macOS has asked your permission. Nothing from it is sent anywhere.

Your account

An account is optional. It holds your email address and your licence. You can delete it from within the app, in Settings ▸ Account.

This website

Like every web server, ours writes technical access logs (address, time, page requested) that are used to keep the site running and deleted after a short time. The site loads no fonts from other companies and shows no advertising.

The beta sign-up

When you sign up for the beta, we store the email address you enter as soon as you send it, and your first and last name if you add them, together with the language of the page, where on the site you signed up, and the time. We use them only to give you access to the beta and to write to you about it, and we do not pass them on. They are kept for as long as the beta runs, or until you ask us to delete them — a message to info@marketvision.ch is enough. The sign-up rests on your consent, which you can withdraw at any time.

To keep the form from being misused, the server counts requests from each network address for one hour. It keeps only a scrambled form of the address, never the address itself, and forgets it after that hour.

Google Tag Manager

This website uses Google Tag Manager, a service of Google Ireland Limited, Gordon House, Barrow Street, Dublin 4, Ireland. Tag Manager is a tool for loading other services into a web page; it sets no cookies itself. When a page loads, your browser fetches Tag Manager from Google's servers, which receive your network address and technical details of your browser.

Google Analytics

Through Tag Manager, this website uses Google Analytics 4, also a service of Google Ireland Limited, to see how the site is used: which pages are visited, how visitors arrived and roughly from where, and with what kind of device and browser. It sets cookies (_ga and _ga_…) to recognise a returning browser; Google Analytics 4 does not store network addresses. When you complete a step of the beta sign-up, the page tells Tag Manager that a step was completed — never your address or your name. You can block the cookies in your browser's settings, or install Google's browser add-on to opt out.

Google may process data in the United States; Google LLC is certified under the EU–US and the Swiss–US Data Privacy Framework.
